4.2 There are many different agencies that have roles in the safeguarding and protecting of individuals from abuse. This is so abuse is easier to notice and to ensure that any signs of abuse are reported correctly. These different agencies include; Medical professionals such as; Doctors, nurses and hospital staff. They can diagnose and treat signs of abuse, they will also record what they see including using photographic evidence. Psychiatrics and phycologist, etc., will also report evidence of abuse. The local authority will carry out an assessment of needs, this will be done through social workers. This will then determine the possibility of abuse for the individual. The safeguarding team, within social services inspects and assures safety and will work with other agencies.
