it talks about a murder case that happened in 1979 in San Francisco. A man named Dan White had murdered two former politicians, George Moscone and Harvey Milk. Dan White proceeded to convince the court that in his defense he had ate a bunch of Twinkies, which then blasted a lot of sugar through his arteries and in the end, drove him into a murderous frenzy and murdering two people. This defense was labeled as the “Twinkie defense”. Dan was then cleared of murder. However, his lawyers stated he had a “diminished capacity” and so the homicides weren’t really murder. Technically the law stated that for a crime to be considered murder, the killing must be planned and intentional. So, Dan was eventually found guilty of voluntary manslaughter and served a lesser sentence.
