Nationalism and patriotism both show the relationship of an individual towards his or her nation

Nationalism and patriotism both show the relationship of an individual towards his or her nation. The two are often confused and frequently believed to mean the same thing. However, there is a vast difference between nationalism and patriotism. Nationalism means to give more importance to unity by way of a cultural background, including language and heritage and the Patriotism pertains to the love for a nation, with more emphasis on values and beliefs.
Losing the spirit of nationalism and patriotism among the Filipino learners is getting worse already because of their lack of attention and knowledge on what happen before about the Filipino people who give sacrifices and also who died for their country, a long time ago some young people here, loved to die as a sign of care and love for their country, but now is not the same before because nowadays, when you ask or question the student to die for their country, believe it or not, they laugh at you and thinking it is a worthless and nonsense, they don’t have any interest and they only think is themselves and this is a reason why the present Filipino learners is devoid of patriotism. As a future Educator I should give my students a knowledge on how importance the Nationalism and take it to their heart, but now, on what I see, some learners have lack of nationalism because of what they adopt on Western culture just like on what they dress, make up, lifestyle, and their values, also on this generation they already idolizing the k-pop song and their dance, as well as they prefer the products of foreign before us. The solution of this kind of issue is to encourage and warn them that they need to appreciate and owe the Filipino people who died for our country and sacrifice. Through the reformation of education, globalization awareness and westernization regulation, nationalism and patriotism will not be lost among Filipino learners.
This project shown on how the Filipino learners lost their spirit on nationalism and patriotism, because some of them forget the value of the Filipino people who loved, sacrificed, worked hard and died to build us a free nation.
