There may be conflicts or dilemmas within the nursery if information is shared with working partners, for instance, ‘whistleblowing’. This can happen when someone working within the nursery sees something that their colleague may be doing to a child, treating them differently or mistreating that child, they will then have to go and report to the safeguarding officer of the nursery immediately as they see this happen. That person that has made the issue aware to the safeguarding officer must not talk about it with anyone else or disclose any information, if they do they will be breaking the rules and regulations and also, the nursery’s procedure. They will also be breaking confidentiality of the nursery, the matter must remain in the hands of everyone involved and should not be made aware or discussed with anyone else.
